今日（10/4）のﾊﾞｲﾌﾞﾙｸﾗｽの出席者は定例メンバーの４名でした。聖書の箇所はマタイによる福音書の１８章の１節から１７節までです。
この箇所は、イエスの※５大説教の中の第四番目の説教として良く知られる箇所です。「天国（地上の教会）で一番偉い者は誰か？」という弟子たちの質問に対する答えとして、また、共同体（教会内）のメンバーの間に起こる様々な問題に対する解決の知恵など、イエスは未だこの時点では形成されていない教会の重要なコンセプトを明らかにします。イエスが天に昇られた以降、地上にキリスト教会を起こす弟子たちに教会の正しいビジョンとミッションをたとえをもって具体的に教えています。
※五大説教：1.山上の説教（5-7章）―イエスと共にある者の幸い。神の国の義 2.弟子たちへの宣教派遣の説教（10章） 3.「 天の国」についての譬え-神の国の秘儀（13章） 4.神の国の共同体：兄弟愛に生きる教会と弟子のあり方（18 章） 5. 神の国のさばき（23章-25章） ―5 章の「幸い」に対して「不幸」を語る。～これらの五つの教訓には大きな意味がある。それらはみな律法、モーセの五書に通じている。したがって、「・・・律法を完成させるために来た。」というイエスのメッセージが良く理解できる。

Becomes Simple Again
18 At about the same time, the disciples came to
Jesus asking, "Who gets the highest rank in God's kingdom?"
2-5 For an answer Jesus called over a child, whom he stood in the middle of
the room, and said, "I'm telling you, once and for all, that unless you return
to square one and start over like children, you're not even going to get a look
at the kingdom, let alone get in. Whoever becomes simple and elemental again,
like this child, will rank high in God's kingdom. What's more, when you receive
the childlike on my account, it's the same as receiving me.
6-7 "But if you give them a hard time, bullying or taking advantage of their
simple trust, you'll soon wish you hadn't. You'd be better off dropped in the
middle of the lake with a millstone around your neck. Doom to the world for
giving these God-believing children a hard time! Hard times are inevitable, but
you don't have to make it worse--and it's doomsday to you if you do.
8-9 "If your hand or your foot gets in the way of God, chop it off and throw
it away. You're better off maimed or lame and alive than the proud owners of
two hands and two feet, godless in a furnace of eternal fire. And if your eye
distracts you from God, pull it out and throw it away. You're better off
one-eyed and alive than exercising your twenty-twenty vision from inside the
fire of hell.
10 "Watch that you don't treat a single one of these childlike believers
arrogantly. You realize, don't you, that their personal angels are constantly
in touch with my Father in heaven?

It Out Between You
12-14 "Look at it this way. If someone has a hundred sheep and
one of them wanders off, doesn't he leave the ninety-nine and go after the one?
And if he finds it, doesn't he make far more over it than over the ninety-nine
who stay put? Your Father in heaven feels the same way. He doesn't want to lose
even one of these simple believers.
15-17 "If a fellow believer hurts you, go and tell him--work it
out between the two of you. If he listens, you've made a friend. If he won't
listen, take one or two others along so that the presence of witnesses will
keep things honest, and try again. If he still won't listen, tell the church.
If he won't listen to the church, you'll have to start over from scratch,
confront him with the need for repentance, and offer again God's forgiving
love.
今回もこの18章前半の箇所のコメンタリーを英文聖書"The Voice"に読むと次のように記されていました。
The disciples struggle with the
concept of the kingdom of heaven. They do not yet understand that who is most
important or most powerful is a contradiction in terms. This is the
fourth of the five great sermons in Matthew.
弟子たちは天国の理解にもがき苦悩する。彼らは誰が最も偉く、最も力ある者であるか、それが名辞この世の論理とは矛盾するものであるとは未だ理解していない。これはマタイによる福音書の5つの大きな教訓の第4の教えである。
The wisdom of the world says the shepherd
should forget that one missing sheep and chalk it up as a loss. In God's
economy, each soul has its own value apart from all others. Jesus calls the
people of His kingdom to help the weak and the friendless, the small and the
frail, the mute and the poor, the ugly and the disfigured.
世の知恵では、羊飼いはいなくなった一匹の羊を忘れるべきで、それを損失として計上することになっている。（しかし）神の経済（教え）においては、各々の魂はすべて別個のものとして一つ一つに価値を持っている。イエスは、弱いもの、友人がいないもの、もろいもの、モノの云えない者、貧しい者、醜くいものを救うために神の国に人々を呼び寄せる。
