「バイブルクラス」が行われました。

3月1日のバイブルクラスの出席者は4名でした。

聖書の箇所は前回に続きマタイによる福音書10章後半の29節から終わりまでで、サブタイトルに"Forget About Yourself"と記されている箇所です。ここも前回同様、キリストが云うところのHarvest・伝道の収穫、すなわちキリストの働き手である弟子や信仰者たちの獲得と求められる要件について記されています。

先ず今回の箇所のサブタイトル" Forget About Yourself"とは何かを考えさせられます。「自分のことは忘れなさい」とはなんでしょうか。具体的にどのような自分への思いを指しているのでしょうか。聖書を読み進んでいくと驚きの事例が記されています。

^34-37 "Don't think I've come to make life
cozy. I've come to cut--make a sharp knife-cut between son and father,
daughter and mother, bride and mother-in-law--cut through these cozy domestic
arrangements and free you for God. Well-meaning family members can be your
worst enemies. If you prefer father or mother over me, you don't deserve me. If
you prefer son or daughter over me, you don't deserve me.

ここでキリストは世の中で当然のように良しとされている、親子の家族関係の心地よい様を否定します。「私（キリスト）はそれぞれの関係を鋭いナイフで断ち切るために来た」とまで言っています。そして親よりも、子供よりもキリストとの関係が常に上位に優先していなければならないこと、それを聖書を読む私たちに対してまるで命令しているかのように説いています。ここに" Forget
About Yourself"とは何かのヒントがあるように思います。「...を忘れなさい」と言いながらも、実は「忘れるな！あるいは、良く覚えておきなさい！」Don't Forget!ではないでしょうか。

最後の箇所ですが、^40-42 "We are intimately linked in this harvest
work. Anyone who accepts what you do, accepts me, the One who sent you. Anyone
who accepts what I do accepts my Father, who sent me. Accepting a messenger of
God is as good as being God's messenger. Accepting someone's help is as good as
giving someone help. This is a large work I've called you into, but don't be
overwhelmed by it. It's best to start small. Give a cool cup of
water to someone who is thirsty, for instance. The smallest act of giving or
receiving makes you a true apprentice. You won't lose out on a thing."

この箇所の冒頭は"We are intimately linked..."「私たちは親密に繋がっている...」で始まります。ここで云うところの親密な繋がりこそ、神・キリスト・私たちの関係において常に先行して在り、けして忘れてはならない大切なことではないでしょうか。

そして御言葉はこうフォローします。...don't
be overwhelmed by it.「そのことに困惑するな！」です。そして更に「The Message」は黄金律ともいえる普遍的な知恵を著しています。It's best to start small.「小さくスタートすることこそ最善である。」

その結果、The smallest act of giving or receiving makes
you a true apprentice.「...最も小さな行いがあなた方を本物の弟子と為す。」You won't lose out on a thing."「（そして）あなた方は報いから漏れることはない。」でこの10章は終わります。
